Cycling may be one of the most satisfying ways to discover a territory. Whatever the categories, at your own pace, this sport is a perfect link to the past of the villages and valleys of the Catalan natural spaces as well as a connection with yourself and the surrounding environment. The truth is that cycling routes make you a bit happier, because they allow you to discover new unsuspected spots which, once sitting on your bike, always take on a magical touch.

During the last few years, e-bikes have burst into the bicycle market, mainly because they provide an extra help which allows you to go for rides with your friends or family with much less effort. When we say that cycling takes you closer to happiness, we have good reasons. Taking your bike and starting pedalling brings you closer to your fellow cyclists, makes you stronger and healthier, and helps you to carry on with optimism. Catalonia offers you a wide range of cycling trips you can enjoy on your own or accompanied by skilled local guides.

In Cardós Valley, for example, you can go for an extraordinary discovery of the area renting an e-MTB. This eco-friendly and silent bike will be a perfect ally to discover the wonderful landscapes and secrets hidden in the small villages of this narrow valley of Pallars Sobirà.

You can also e-mountain bike through the vineyards of Serra Llarga and Secans de la Noguera. Departing from Avellanes Monastery, this circular route will make you discover a range of lovely villages such as Algerri, Castelló de Farfanya and Òs de Balaguer. To recharge your batteries and take a swig of the Ponent region, we will stop halfway for a wine tasting at Celler La Gravera, surrounded by centennial vineyards, and then a final tasting of local products.

Apart from being beneficial for the environment, cycling also helps you to reduce stress and to get into the flow. You can see this for yourself with this half-day e-bike route through the Ebro Delta, along the Fangar Bay. Do not forget your camera to capture some of the many waterbirds that will surround you on the whole route, which also passes by the enchanting beaches of the Delta.

And if you have the feeling that a half-day trip will be too short, you can also go for this one-day e-bike trip through Ebro Delta. Every pedal stroke will make you feel the emotions of cycling in a unique landscape of rice fields, along a cycle line that will take you to the wide mouth of Ebro. A route you can adapt as you wish in order to peacefully enjoy the splendor of this natural space.

Guided trips and local product tasting

As mentioned before, you can both opt for cycling on your own or accompanied by local specialised guides who will take you to the best paths. The rural companies will help you to adapt your trip to your personal needs and to choose one of the guided cycling routes through Cerdagne. Whether you want to cycle with your family, your friends or your colleagues, all the cycling options (racing, mountain and e-bikes) can be done with a guide. You won’t have to worry about anything: the bikes and all the equipment you need are provided, so that you can enjoy a fantastic day full of positive emotions.

Ebro Delta can also be discovered in the company of a guide. The route will take you to Kensho Sake workshop, where you will have the opportunity to taste the first Mediterranean liqueur made with rice from Ebro Delta. The guided trip in the heart of the rice fields and along the wild beaches will allow you to enjoy a sake tasting accompanied by Fangar oysters and traditional tapas.

The combination landscape discovery / local food tasting can also be enjoyed with the e-bike route between the castles of Sió, which will take you to several fortresses of the Sió Plains, starting from Concabella Castle. The route also includes a guided tour in Pallargues Castle, wine tasting, and final local food tasting upon the arrival in Concabella.
