Els Corremarges Association

Els Corremarges is an entity that works for the recovery and dissemination of popular uses of vegetation. We are in La Sala de Comalats, a village in the Baixa Segarra, from where we develop various projects. To recover local knowledge about plants, we do research in ethnobotany, interviewing local people and consulting the available archives and bibliography. We spread this knowledge in our workshops, talks, guided walks and other activities. We work particularly on edible wild plants, which is why we are also harvesters and processors. We grow and harvest flowers, herbs and fruits that are the basis of our artisanal preserves with wild and forgotten fruits. We are passionate about plants and their uses and we love to share that passion. Contact us and we will enjoy nature and its stories together!

Walk "Discover the companion plants of our environment"
In this walk we will discover the flora of our nearest landscape from the ethnobotanical point of view. Plants are transformed into games for children, they feed us, warm us or serve us to build all kinds of things. They are a source of inspiration for poets and inventors imitate their natural ingenuity. They help us to cure human and animal diseases, and are present in architecture, in religious symbols, in beliefs and superstitions. In a relaxed and rigorous environment at the same time, we will tell stories and anecdotes that will make us understand that nature and culture are not contradictory, and that conserving biodiversity also helps us keep our intangible heritage alive. Duration of three hours and for all audiences.

Wild cooking workshop
With the wild cooking workshops, we will discover the world of edible spontaneous plants, teach their possibilities in cooking and raise awareness about our immediate plant environment. This is a hands-on workshop, where attendees will learn how to use some of the best edible plants in our landscape. The activity begins with a short introduction to learning how to identify and harvest these plants. Next, we show what the possibilities are in the kitchen and together we make 3 or 4 dishes. The activity ends with a tasting of the dishes prepared during the workshop.

Commented tasting and pairing of local products
The Corremarges make our preserves in the shared workshop of the Cooperativa Tres Cadires, in Arbeca, we are part of the Association of garlic producers of Belltall, the Association of producers of the Vall del Corb and the Network of small producers Mosaic de SecĂ . We believe that networking and cooperation are essential tools for maintaining the good life of rural communities. We suggest you live this network and taste it in a unique experience in the middle of nature: a tasting and commented pairing of products from the land. Depending on the season and the needs of each one, we combine our wild products with those of other nearby producers.
